Atkins Diet

The Atkins Diet involves restricting carbohydrates in order to switch the body's metabolism from burning glucose to burning stored body fat (lipolysis). This process starts when the body enters the state of ketosis as it runs out of carbohydrates to burn. Dr. Atkins in his book New Diet Revolution claimed that the low-carb diet produces a "metabolic advantage."
